Scope: This standard defines a series of related 130mm disc cartridges of different specified types. A disc has two sides, called side A and side B. The nominal capacity of each side is 1.3G bytes. This standard specifies the following: —Conditions for conformance testing and reference drives; —Operation and storage environment of disc cartridges; —Mechanical characteristics, physical characteristics and geometric dimensions of disc cartridges to ensure data processing systems mechanical interchangeability. - the format of information embossed on the disc and written by the user, including the physical location of tracks and sectors, the error correction code and modulation method used; - the characteristics of the information embossed on the disc; - the magneto-optical characteristics of the disc, - the minimum quality of data written by the user of the disc to enable the processing system to write data to the disc, to enable the data processing system to read data from the disc. This standard provides for interchanging between optical disc drives. Together with a standard on file and file structures, this International Standard provides for full data exchange between data processing systems.
