- Scope
- This part of GB/T 6404 applies to the determination of mechanical vibration of closed speed increasing and reducing gear units with independent boxes. Does not include gear system torsional vibration measurements. This part of GB/T 6404 applies only to gear units that have been accepted for acceptance testing on the manufacturer's test equipment and are tested and operated at design speeds, loads, temperature ranges and lubrication conditions. By agreement, gear units may also be tested elsewhere, but shall be operated under the conditions recommended by the manufacturer. Other criteria for vibration evaluation may be required for in situ measurement of gear unit vibrations. This part of GB/T 6404 does not apply to some special or auxiliary gear devices, such as compressors, pumps, turbines, etc. that are integrated with gear devices, and gear devices that do not transmit power. Some special clauses may be required in the vibration measurement, such as: measurement method and acceptance level should be determined through consultation between the manufacturer and the user.
