GB/T 19980-2005
Scope
This standard specifies a test method for evaluating the appearance of garments and other textile end products after one or several domestic washings and dryings, such as flatness of fabric appearance, flatness of seams and retention of ironed creases. This standard applies to washable textile end products with any fabric structure. This standard does not cover finishing techniques such as sewing and ironing pleats, since the final textile products being evaluated are either supplied by the manufacturer or are ready to be worn. The processing technology should be selected according to the performance of the fabric. This method mainly uses the B-type household washing machine specified in GB/T 8629, but the A-type washing machine specified in this standard can also be used. It is recognized that prints and other patterns may mask the wrinkled appearance of textile end products, but this method is primarily based on rating the visual appearance of specimens that incorporate this effect.
