Scope: This standard applies to electric motor driven equipment (with or without auxiliary equipment) designed primarily for industrial and commercial use, including equipment incorporating wet and/or dry suction devices, with a rated voltage of single phase. It stipulates the safety of 250V or less for AC and 480V or less for other equipment.
