- 1.1 This standard specifies the requirements for temporary overvoltage and transient overvoltage acting on electrical equipment in AC power systems, the insulation level of electrical equipment, and overvoltage protection methods. 1.2 When it comes to power quality issues in terms of overvoltage, it should be implemented in accordance with the provisions of this standard, combined with the characteristics of the power grid, equipment and the use environment, and refer to relevant professional standards. 1.3 This standard does not apply to overvoltages caused by static electricity, contact with high-voltage systems, and steady-state waveform distortion (harmonics).
