Scope

This standard specifies the determination method of Vicat softening temperature of thermoplastic pipes and pipe fittings. This standard applies to thermoplastic materials where the temperature can be measured when the material begins to soften rapidly. It does not apply to crystalline or semi-crystalline polymeric materials.
