This standard specifies how to determine the soap content and organic acid content of raw material styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). Since the soap and organic acids present in rubber are not separate chemical substances, this standard provides approximate values for the soap and organic acid contents. This method is applicable to all types of SBR, but some modifications are required for oil-extended rubber.
