Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the amount of bound styrene in raw material emulsion polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) from the refractive index of the extracted sample using a correlation table between refractive index and styrene mass %. This method can also be applied to oil-extended emulsion polymerization SBR if a film whose refractive index can be measured can be produced. Not applicable to solution polymerized SBR.
