Scope

This standard specifies methods for determining the concentration of chlorophyll a. This procedure can be applied to phytoplankton in natural surface waters and can also be applied to algal growth tests in bioassays. Using appropriate sampling methods, this can also be applied to benthic plant communities (periphyton algae) (see Annex A).
