Scope

1.1 This part of GB/T 21461 specifies the naming system for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW) thermoplastic materials. This system serves as a basis for classification. The ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW) in this section means that the melt mass flow rate (MFR) is less than 0 under the conditions of a temperature of 190°C and a load of 21.6 kg. 1 g/10 rain polyethylene material. 1.2 Different types of PE-UHMw thermoplastic materials are distinguished by a classification system based on the following specified characteristic property values as well as recommended uses and/or processing methods, important properties, additives, colorants, fillers and reinforcing materials. : a) Viscosity; b) Definite stress; c) Double-notch impact strength of simply supported beam. 1.3 This section applies to all PE-UHMw homopolymers and other copolymers where the mass fraction of olefin monomers is less than 50% and the mass fraction of non-olefin monomers with functional groups is not more than 3%. This section applies to materials that are conventionally in the form of powder, granules or granules, unmodified or modified by colorants, additives, fillers, etc. 1.4 This section does not imply that materials with the same name must have the same properties. This section does not provide engineering data, performance data or processing condition data required to describe the material's special uses and/or processing methods. If necessary, these additional properties can be determined according to the test methods specified in Part 2 of this standard. 1.5 In order to describe the special use of a certain PE-UHMW material or to ensure the reproducibility of processing, additional requirements may be given in the 5th character group.
