- Scope
- This standard specifies a method for calculating the color difference between two samples of the same material under the same conditions. The total color difference △Ecmc (L:C) can quantify the degree of color mismatch between the two samples. It allows a maximum range of deviation (tolerance), the specification of which depends only on the close match required by the end use, independent of the nature of the colors and color differences involved. The method also provides methods for determining lightness, chroma, and hue differences.
