Scope: This standard specifies the technical performance indicators, sample preparation, method and precision of mass spectrometer in the analysis of stable carbon isotope composition of organic matter, etc. This standard is applicable to the stable carbon isotope composition analysis of crude oil and its various components, kerogen, coal, rock bitumen and other sedimentary organic matter and organic matter of all organisms. This standard does not apply to the stable carbon isotope composition analysis of organic samples containing carbonatite minerals.
