This standard specifies four methods for measuring water turbidity. Chapter 2 specifies semi-quantitative determinations used for field measurements such as: a) Method using a fluoroscopic test tube (applicable to clean water or water with little contamination) b) Method using a fluoroscopic test disk (especially applicable to surface water) Chapter 3 is a quantitative method using a turbidity meter. Specify the method. a) A method that measures scattered light and is used for water with low turbidity. Depending on the design (specifications) of the device, it can also be used for highly turbid water. b) A method that measures the attenuation of the luminous flux and is more suitable for highly turbid waters (e.g. wastewater or contaminated water).
