Scope

—This standard provides guidelines for sampling sedimentary substances from: 　——Inland rivers — Lakes and similar still bodies of water — Estuary and port waters — Industrial and sewage treatment plant sludge, paleolimnological sampling and open ocean sediments are essentially are excluded. Sampling for sedimentation rate measurements, other transport standards and strata delineation is not within the scope of this standard.
