- Scope
- This standard gives guidelines for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, validation and calibration of hydrostatic tank gauge (HTG) systems for direct measurement of static oil quality in vertical cylindrical tanks. This standard is applicable to the hydrostatic tank measurement system where one end of the pressure sensor is open to the atmosphere. This standard applies to hydrostatic tank gauging systems used on atmospheric vertical cylindrical fixed roof or floating roof tanks. This standard does not apply to hydrostatic tank gauging systems used on pressurized tanks.
