Scope: This standard stipulates, in order to determine the chemical composition, moisture content and particle size distribution of a delivery batch, the method of mechanical sampling, manual sampling and sample preparation from a delivery batch during the transfer process, including: a) basic theory; b) sampling and The basic principles of sample preparation; c) The basic requirements for the design, installation and operation of the sampling system. The sampling and sample preparation methods for physical tests shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the international standard ISO 10836. The methods specified in this standard apply to the loading and unloading of consignments on belt conveyors and other ore transport equipment which can be fitted with mechanical samplers or which can safely be sampled manually. These methods apply to all iron ores, whether natural or processed (such as fine ore concentrates and man-made lumps such as pellets or sinter).
