Scope
This standard specifies the nuclides, structural forms, characteristics and technical requirements of low-energy β and γ reference sources used to calibrate radioactive surface contamination monitors. This standard is applicable to the reference sources (except for 3 H) of β particles with energy lower than 0.15 MeV and photons with energy lower than 1.5 MeV for the calibration of surface pollution monitors. The reference sources involved are mainly used to calibrate measurable Instrument efficiency of surface contamination monitors with electron-capturing or isobaric transition decay nuclides.
