Scope

This standard specifies a method for testing the shear fatigue strength of adhesives under specified conditions using standard specimens under specified conditions for the purpose of determining the properties of structural adhesives for metals. Fatigue properties are a function of specimen geometry. The results obtained are independent of the intrinsic properties of the adhesive and cannot be used for design purposes.
