Scope

This standard measures the flexural complex modulus E* of homogeneous plastics and the damping characteristics of laminated plastics for sound insulation, such as a metal sheet coated with a plastic layer and two metal sheets with a plastic layer sandwiched inside. A bending vibration method based on resonance curves is defined. For many purposes, it is useful to measure these properties as a function of temperature and frequency.
