Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining environmental stress cracking (ESC) when a certain tensile load is applied to plastics in the presence of chemicals. This standard is applicable to test specimens prepared by molding and/or machining and can be used to evaluate the ESC of plastic materials exposed to various environments and to measure the ESC of various plastic materials exposed to specific environments. .
