This standard specifies a method for measuring the durability of molded specimens of polypropylene and prodrene copolymer by heating them in air in a forced draft oven to accelerate their deterioration. This method is a common method for trying to estimate the lifespan of parts made of propylene plastic. Thermal stability measured in this way has no direct bearing on the applicability of the material when used under different environmental conditions.
