Scope

This standard specifies the iodine titration method for free chlorine and total chlorine in water. —This method is applicable to the determination of chlorine (Cl) from 0.01 to 0.21 mmol/l (0.71 to 15 mg/l). - Interfering with the stagnation of some substances (see 10.). - Annex B provides for reference the direct determination method for samples with chlorine concentrations exceeding 7 μmol/l (0.5 mg/l).
