This standard specifies a titration method for the determination of dissolved chloride in water. This method can be applied for the direct determination of dissolved chloride at concentrations between 5 and 150 mg/l. The range can be extended to 400 mg/l by using a larger volume burette or by diluting the sample. Due to many interferences, this method cannot be applied to highly polluted waters with low chloride content.
