- The document specifies the requirements and corresponding test methods for the types of carbon blacks, lamp black (type A), furnace black (type B) and gas black (type C): relative tinting strength, dibutylphthalate absorption value, specific surface area, matter volatile at 105 ?and at 950 ? loss on ignition, residue on sieve and matter soluble in toluen. Additionally requirements for the black value of the three types of carbon blacks were included into the standard.
