- This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, sampling, marking, labeling and packaging requirements of carbon dioxide laser therapy machines (hereinafter referred to as therapy machines). This standard applies to laser therapy machines that use fully enclosed cavity-type continuous wave carbon dioxide lasers of various specifications with a total length of no more than 2m. This product is mainly used for cutting, cauterizing, vaporizing, coagulating and irradiating human tissues to achieve therapeutic purposes. This standard does not apply to laser therapy machines using radio frequency excitation and waveguide lasers.
