Scope
This standard specifies the methods for measuring the water vapor transmission capacity, water vapor transmission rate, water vapor transmission coefficient and water vapor diffusion resistance index of rigid foam plastics. This standard applies to rigid foam plastics with a thickness of 10 mm or more. It can be a complete material or a foam material with a white crust or adhered surface material. This standard specifies three different temperature and humidity conditions: a) 38℃, humidity gradient is 0% ~ 88%; b) 23℃, humidity gradient is 0% ~ 85%; c) 23℃, humidity gradient is 0% ~50%. The results obtained by this method can be used for product design, production control and product specification. This method is suitable for materials with water vapor permeability in the range of 3 mg/(m'·s) to 200 mg/(m2·s).
