Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of food additive tartrazine. This standard applies to the condensation of dihydroxytartaric acid and phenylhydrazine p-sulfonic acid, or the coupling of p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid with 1-(4′-sulfobenzene)-3-carboxypyrazolone-5 after diazotization .
