The purpose of this standard is to provide concise guidelines for the collection and processing of representative samples of treated natural gas sources. It also includes principles that should be considered for sampling, location of probes, and guidelines for handling and design of sampling equipment. This standard deals with point sampling, combined sampling (cumulative sampling) and continuous sampling systems. This standard considers components such as oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, air, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide in the gas stream. This standard does not cover the sampling of liquid or multiphase fluids. If traces of liquids such as glycol and compressor oil are present, they are considered interfering impurities, not part of the sample gas, and should be removed to protect the sampling and analysis equipment from contamination. This standard can be used in transfer metering system and transmission and distribution metering system.
