This standard is used to confirm that equipment, units, and sensors (hereinafter referred to as equipment) for automation and measurement equipment installed on a ship can perform adequately under the expected environmental conditions on board the ship. Specifies general matters regarding environmental testing. It is recommended that tests according to this standard be performed on a single product of the same type of equipment with the same design. Note: This standard does not apply to navigation equipment and radio equipment.
