Scope
This standard has basically the same chemical properties as polyvinyl acetal resin, and class 105 has a layer mainly composed of polyvinyl acetal resin that has been modified to satisfy all of the specified wire characteristics. This relates to enameled rectangular copper wire. Note: Modified resins are resins that have been chemically modified or have one or more additives added to them in order to improve their properties and applicability. Class 105 is a heat resistance class that requires a temperature index of 105 or higher and a thermal shock resistance of 155°C or higher. The temperature (°C) corresponding to the temperature index does not necessarily imply a recommendation for the use of the wire at that temperature. It depends on many factors including the equipment used. Size Range—Width: Min. 2.0 mm Max. 16.0 mm—Thickness: Min. 0.80 mm Max. 5.60 mm This standard defines Grade 1 and Grade 2 lines and applies to all size ranges. The combination of width and thickness and the width/thickness ratio are in accordance with JIS C 3215 Part 0 Section 2.
