Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of nitrogen content in crude oil and its products (including petroleum processing materials and lubricating oil) by chemiluminescence. This standard is applicable to the determination of samples with a nitrogen content of 40-10 000 μg/g. For the determination of light hydrocarbon samples with nitrogen content less than 100μ9/g, SH/T 0657 should be used.
