- This standard specifies the method for measuring the friction characteristics of geotextiles and related products with standard sand and soil using a direct shear instrument. This standard applies to all geotextiles and related products. When using a rigid base to test the geogrid, the friction between the base and the result may not be true, and the friction between the geotextile and the sample base should be corrected.
