- This standard specifies two methods for the determination of the free and total amount of heavy metal ions in textiles. The method for the determination of free amounts specifies the use of a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometer to measure the heavy metal ions of cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, nickel, and lead in textiles. Content and the method for the determination of the free content of zinc metal ions in textiles with a flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer; Method for the determination of the total amount of zinc heavy metal ions. This standard applies to the simultaneous determination of the free and total amounts of cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, nickel, lead and zinc in various textiles, and also applies to the individual determination of one of the elements.
