1.1 This standard specifies practical measurement methods and simple measurement methods for measuring the sound pressure level on the measurement rectangular parallelepiped surface surrounding the sound source and for calculating the sound field power level generated from the sound source. In addition, the requirements for the measurement environment and equipment, as well as the A-weighted sound power level of the sound source (practical measurement method and simplified measurement method), octave band sound power level or 1/3 octave band sound power level (practical measurement method only) are specified. The method for determining the sound pressure level on the surface of the measurement rectangular parallelepiped, which is necessary for calculation, is also specified. This measurement method can also be applied to acceptance tests.
