Scope

This standard applies to constant-speed rotating water-cooled diesel engines (hereinafter referred to as engines) used as marine AC power generators, excluding those for emergency power generators and electric propulsion. However, if laws and regulations of public authorities (inspection or legislative bodies) and regulations of classification societies apply, additional provisions or special requirements of each regulation shall be complied with.
