Scope
This standard specifies the method for converting the readings (apparent density) of glass oil density meters obtained at non-standard temperatures to the density at standard temperatures (standard density) and volume correction coefficients. This standard applies to crude oil, lubricating oil and other liquid petroleum products. The standard temperature specified in this standard is 20°C. The thermal expansion data of the oil used in the preparation of petroleum meters in this standard is consistent with ISO 91-1. Note: When compiling the petroleum meter, the coefficient of thermal expansion of the glass used in the correction of the density meter reading is consistent with ISO91-1, which is 23×superscript-8>℃-1, which is slightly lower than the conventional standard cited in ISO 1768 value (25×10-6-1), but under the actual maximum temperature difference, the difference between these two coefficients has little effect on the correction result. If both trade parties agree that the influence of the error should be considered, before checking the standard density table, 0.000002pl(t-20) can be subtracted from the density meter reading, where p1t is the glass density degree reading, t is the test temperature.
