This standard specifies a method for determining calcium in groundwater and surface water using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) titration. This standard can also be used for municipal sewage and industrial raw water, provided that heavy metals are not present in disturbingly large amounts. This method is not applicable to seawater and similar waters with high salt concentrations. Applicable to water with calcium concentration of 2 to 100 mg/l (0.05 to 2.5 mmol/I). Samples with concentrations higher than 100 mg/l must be diluted.
