Scope: This standard gives the usage methods and conditions to be observed when pulse insertion technology is applied in order to improve the verification resolution in the verification system of conventional volume tube or small volume volume tube combined with turbine or positive displacement flowmeter. This standard describes the three most commonly used pulse insertion techniques and their conditions of use; also describes the equipment and calibration methods used to verify the satisfactory operation of pulse insertion systems; also describes some methods for measuring the irregularity of the pulse interval of flowmeters .
