- This standard specifies the general principles for the selection, installation, operation and maintenance of volumetric flowmeter measurement systems based on the characteristics of the volumetric flowmeter and the properties of the liquid to be measured. This standard is applicable to the flow measurement of various positive displacement flowmeters and liquid hydrocarbons with different properties in different occasions in the petroleum industry. This standard does not apply to the measurement of two-phase fluids.
