Scope
This standard specifies tear strength tests on vulcanized rubber and plastics; or on rubber and rubber, fabrics covered with rubber (or plastics) and rubber (or plastics), and fabrics and fabrics covered with rubber (or plastics). After the adhesive strength test, there are 5 methods to calculate its tear strength and adhesive strength. For the force-time curve obtained in the test, calculate the median value and polar distance value of the peak value, which is the test result. There may be many or very few peaks on the bonding strength and tear strength curves (depending on the material being tested), and the calculation method needs to be selected based on the number of peaks. The purpose of this standard is to obtain consistency in the evaluation and description of a test result. This standard is only useful when other standards specify test methods or specifications for a certain performance. For other matters regarding the test, such as test equipment, sample preparation, sample condition adjustment, test procedures, etc., please refer to the relevant national standards. Note: In some cases, the various analysis methods provided by this standard may not be applicable, such as when the peak value of the curve shows an increasing or decreasing trend over time. When it is necessary to find the minimum force value, the same method as that used to find the peak pole distance can be used.
