- Scope
- This standard specifies the method for measuring residual (internal) stress in copper and copper alloy processed materials by accelerated test of mercurous nitrate. This residual stress may lead to damage of the material by stress corrosion cracking in use or storage. Although this method is also suitable for testing assemblies or components, it is not intended for this purpose and some modifications are required for this purpose.
