- This standard is applicable to the determination of methylmercury content in surface water, drinking water, domestic sewage, industrial wastewater, sediment, fish body, human hair and human urine. This method adopts the pretreatment method of secondary enrichment of mercapto gauze and mercapto cotton, and uses gas chromatography (electron capture detector) to measure methylmercury in water, sediment and urine; adopts the pretreatment method of hydrochloric acid solution extraction, and uses Determination of Methylmercury in Fish Meat and Human Hair Tissue by Gas Chromatography (Electron Capture Detector). The minimum detection concentration of this method varies with the sensitivity of the instrument and the sample matrix. The detectable concentrations in water, sediment and urine are usually 0.01ng/L, 0.02μg/kg and 2ng/L respectively; the detectable concentrations in fish and human hair are usually 0.1μg/kg and 1μg/kg respectively.
