Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for zinc electroplating coatings on iron and steel. This standard applies to zinc electroplating coatings for preventing steel corrosion under various service conditions. This standard does not apply to zinc coatings on unformed steel sheets, strips and wires, zinc coatings on steel close-wound springs, and zinc coatings for non-protective and decorative purposes.
