Scope
1.1 This part of GB/T 1040 specifies the test conditions for the tensile properties of unidirectional fiber reinforced composite materials based on Part 1. 1.2 See 1.2 in GB/T 1040.1-2006. 1.3 This section applies to all polymer composite materials reinforced with unidirectional fibers and meeting the test requirements of this section of GB/T 1040 (including failure modes). This section applies to composite materials made of thermoplastic materials or thermoset materials, including prepreg materials (prepreg). Reinforcement materials include carbon fiber, glass fiber, polyaramid fiber or other similar fibers. The reinforcing material geometries involved include unidirectional (that is, completely in a straight line) fibers, untwisted rovings, unidirectional fabrics, and narrow-band fabrics. This section does not apply to multi-directional composite materials composed of several unidirectional laminates at different angles (see GB/T 1040.4-2006). 1.4 This standard shall use one of two different types of specimens, the type of specimen depending on the direction of applied stress relative to the fiber orientation (see Chapter 6). 1.5 See 1.5 in GB/T 1040.1-2006.
