Scope

This standard specifies the principles for the design, construction, maintenance and safety of cold insulation of equipment and pipelines below normal temperature. This standard applies to the cold insulation of equipment, pipes and their accessories, and related instruments in general industrial sectors whose outer surface temperature is below normal temperature to -196°C. This standard does not apply to cold insulation of buildings and cold storage, nor does it apply to national defense and scientific research and some cold insulation with special requirements.
