Scope

This standard specifies the uniform requirements for the design, production, test methods and inspection rules of strain-controlled direct shear instruments (hereinafter referred to as direct shear instruments). This standard applies to strain-controlled direct shear instruments. The instrument is used to determine the shear strength of soil samples under static load conditions.
