Scope

This standard specifies a method for the determination of the hydroxyl value of polyethoxylated condensates by esterifying hydroxyl groups with acetic anhydride. This standard is applicable to the determination of hydroxyl groups of polyethoxylated condensates of aliphatic and alicyclic compounds (especially the hydroxyl groups of ethylene oxide adducts of primary fatty alcohols, alkylphenols and fatty acids). It is used for the determination of hydroxyl value between 10 and 1000.
