This part of BS 5131 describes methods for the qualitative assessment of changes in finished footwear when exposed to heat. This method is useful in assessing the ability of footwear to withstand exposure to heat, for example in store windows, while being worn, or when merchandise is exported. This procedure can also be used to accelerate the aging of footwear before performing other tests on the footwear. NOTE: The publications referenced by this standard are listed on the inside back cover.
