Scope
This standard specifies the measurement method of the sound intensity component perpendicular to the measurement surface, which should surround the noise source to be measured. 1/1, 1/3 octave band or other bandwidth-weighted sound power levels are calculated from the measured values. This method is applicable to any sound source with a defined measurement surface. On the measurement surface, the noise generated by the sound source is stationary in time (see definition in 3.13). The measurement surface is selected according to the size and shape of the sound source, and the method can be used in field or special purpose test environments. This standard can be used for sound sources in any environment where changes in the surrounding environment over time do not reduce the accuracy of sound intensity measurements to an unacceptable level, or where the sound intensity measurement probe is not affected by high-speed or unsteady airflow (see 5.3 and 5.4). The test conditions sometimes cannot meet the requirements of this standard, especially when the external noise level changes too much during the test, the method given in this standard is not suitable for measuring the sound power level of the sound source. Note 1: Other methods, such as the method of using the surface vibration level to measure the sound power level specified in GB/T16539-1996 "Determination of Sound Power Level of Noise Sources by Acoustic Vibration Velocity Method--Measurement for Enclosed Machines", may be more applicable. This International Standard specifies auxiliary methods for judging the quality of a measurement, ie the degree of accuracy. It is listed in Appendix B. If the results obtained by this method show that the measurement accuracy does not meet the requirements of this standard, the test process should be modified in accordance with Appendix B.
