Scope
This standard specifies the method for the determination of polyisoprene in rubber, namely natural rubber, isoprene rubber, balata rubber and gutta-percha, specifically including natural, isoprene latex solids, solid raw rubber and vulcanized rubber or untreated vulcanized rubber. Compounding agents in soft glue such as carbon black, mineral oil and sulfur have no interfering effect (see Tables 1 and 7.2). This method is not applicable if vinyl acetate polymers are present. This method is applicable to the blended rubber of the rubber mentioned in 1.1 and styrene-butadiene, cis-butadiene and nitrile rubber. If there is halogenated rubber, the determination procedure shall be modified according to 6.6.3. Because halogenated rubber can also react with chromic acid to cause some interference, if it is the main body of the adhesive, it may hinder the reaction of polyisoprene with chromic acid. Complete digestion is therefore checked with a known mixture containing interfering rubber. This method is also applicable to the determination of polyisoprene content in reclaimed rubber, but the measured value is always lower than the estimated value. In addition to the various rubbers mentioned in 1.3, if there are other rubbers (such as: chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, EPDM rubber, butyl rubber, chlorinated butyl rubber and brominated butyl rubber), the digestion time Should be adjusted. The measured value should be corrected by comparing the results obtained with similar gels, otherwise this method is not applicable. The polysulfide rubber in the glue component produced the largest deviation (see Table 2).
